Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

Saskatchewan is one of the Prairie provinces in western Canada with a population of just over 1 million people. Review of Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Programs (SINP)

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Programs (SINP) were launched in 1998 to help address economic needs and labor market shortages through immigration to the province. The provincial nominee programs in Saskatchewan have been highly successful, with seven out of every ten newcomers to the province immigrating through SINP. The province also boasts a high employment rate for newcomers, around 76%. Furthermore, the retention rate is high, with over 85% of newcomers choosing to reside in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan is a popular destination among newcomers. The provincial nominee programs in Saskatchewan are renowned for their “Easy PNP” and this may be due to the diversity of immigration options they offer to applicants.

Saskatchewan has an enhanced program alongside many base immigration programs. The enhanced program is called the Saskatchewan Express Entry and falls under the International Skilled Worker category.

Enhanced programs mean that these programs align with the Express Entry system, a system used by the federal government to manage permanent residency applications through three main economic immigration programs of the country.

The Express Entry system assigns points to candidates based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residency during Express Entry draws.

If you receive a nomination from an enhanced provincial program, you receive an additional 600 CRS points, practically guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Most Saskatchewan programs are base programs, meaning they are not aligned with the Express Entry system. Candidates nominated through provincial nomination must apply directly to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
